You never think it’s going to happen to you.  You never expect to be without a business, without an income, without electricity for days, and in the hands of relief agencies and insurance companies.  After Ike I had to make some painful decisions.  I thought I’d relate them to you.

I needed to pay bills, but as I haven’t been able to save up because of the slowdown in the economy I had nothing to fall back on.  So far the insurance company has only began to asses my damages and it could be months before my flower shop is up and running again.  I used a car title loan from this place to get money for immediate needs, like a new window and new stock since the rest had withered.  

My family and I were very lucky.  We didn’t sustain any damage to our home, but it was still scary to think of what might have happened to us had we not been able to get a loan.  We plan to remain in the area and we hope that the hurricanes stay away for a while.  Thank you. - Jill in Sugar Land
