I was recently rushed to St. Joseph Hospital via ambulance.  I didn’t know what was wrong with me but I had a terrible pain in my side.  The ambulance ride was horrible.  Every little bump we hit, it felt like my gut was going to split open.  Once we were there, doctors were running test after test.  It took them so long to figure out what was going on that they finally knocked me out.  When I woke up, I was still in pain but heavily sedated by drugs.  I asked them what was going on and they told me I went into kidney failure.  It was hard for me to comprehend this considering I’m only 25 years old.  I thought I didn’t have to worry about any major health problems until I was at least 50.  They told me I would need to have emergency surgery that day.  This was so upsetting to me because I didn’t have the money to pay a huge bill like this.  I don’t have health insurance.  I was naive thinking something like this would never happen to me at my age.  I needed to come up with a large amount of cash to pay this bill.  I needed some financial help.
